`Tropic Thunder’ reigns again with $16.1 million weekend

The action comedy “Tropic Thunder” weathered a rush of new movies to remain No. 1 for a second-straight weekend with $16.1 million in ticket sales, according to studio estimates Sunday.
The Paramount-DreamWorks release starring Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr. and Jack Black as actors caught up in real battle while shooting a war movie raised its 12-day total to $65.7 million. Read more

The Los Angeles Times talked to Iron Man 2 director Jon Favreau, who says they have started working on the sequel:
I just talked to Jon Favreau a bit ago, and he said that while there hasn’t been an formal announcement on the sequel to “Iron Man,” he’s begun developing it. “We’re working on it now,” he said, “which hasn’t been officially announced. It will be released in 2010.” Read more

Ben Affleck To Star In ‘Extract’

Russell Crowe is looking forward to bonus time in Australia after the postponement of filming for his next project, Nottingham. Crowe’s latest project Nottingham has been postponed until at least March next year “because director Sir Ridley Scott wanted the leaves on the trees in England’s Sherwood Forest to be the right color”.
