October 20, 2008

W. movie poster

After nearly eight years in office, George W. Bush is still a mystery. How smart is he? How dumb is he? Is he a religious person, or is that just a pose? Read more

Movie Review: Max Payne

October 20, 2008

Max Payne movie review

Stylishly made, armed to the teeth and ludicrous in the extreme, “Max Payne” sends its eponymous antihero into New York’s underbelly on a deranged quest for revenge. Along the way, director John Moore unleashes every visual trick in his arsenal, the flashiest being a hail of bullets that whoosh across the screen in delirious slow-motion — no doubt to distract auds from an increasingly risible story involving tattooed corpses, Norse mythology, demonic hallucinations and perhaps the weirdest cinematic reference yet to the “war on terror.” Read more

Movie Review: Body of Lies

October 13, 2008

Body of Lies movie poster
