Cameron Diaz is a Bad Teacher

Cameron Diaz is going back to the raunchy comedy roots that helped launch her acting career (remember Something About Mary?) with Columbia Pictures’ Bad Teacher.

Jake Kasdan (Walk Hard) will direct the flick, which was written by The Office writers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupinsky. The story follows a foulmouthed, gold-digging middle school teacher who, after getting dumped by her boyfriend, competes with a colleague for the affections of the school’s model teacher.

Production is set to begin in the spring in Los Angeles now that the movie has its leading lady. Diaz was likely chosen for the role since producers Doug Belgrad and Jonathan Kadin are also working with her on Seth Rogen’s The Green Hornet.

Diaz is currently juggling three films that are in various stages of production: Shrek Forever After, Knight and Day and Green Hornet.
