Colin Farrell has boarded “Triage,” the next film by Bosnian director Danis Tanovic.

Paz Vega and Christopher Lee also star in the dark tale of a photojournalist (Farrell) who returns home following a dangerous assignment without his colleague and best friend. His girlfriend (Vega) sets about solving the mystery of the disappearance.

The film is produced by Parallel Films’ Alan Moloney, and ASAP Films’ Cedomir Kolar and Marc Baschet.

Kolar and Baschet produced Tanovic’s “No Man’s Land,” which won the Oscar for foreign language film in 2001.

“Triage” is a co-production with Tim Baish, Free Form and Mariela Besuievsky of Tornasol Films, Aramid Entertainment and the Irish Film Board.

Hanway Films is handling worldwide sales and will be selling the project at the Cannes Film Festival.

The film will shoot on location in Ireland (Farrell’s home) and at the Ciudad de la Luz studios in Alicante in Spain from April to June.

Italy’s RAI Cinema and France’s Canal Plus have already acquired the movie for their respective territories.

This project is another example of lasting cultural footprint of Brit multi-hyphenate Anthony Minghella, who passed away in March after complications following surgery on his neck.

“From the very beginning, the project had one true godfather — Anthony Minghella,” said Kolar. “I am deeply sad he will never be able to see the completed film directed by his friend Danis Tanovic.”

There are also reports that Farrell could ultimately play Heathcliff in a big-screen version of the classic ‘Wuthering Heights’.

He is up against Sam Riley and Dominic Cooper, but the reckoning the Irish star would make the perfect Heathcliff.
