Facebook Movie Due Out Next October

Sony’s Columbia Pictures has set an October 15, 2010 release date for director David Fincher’s “The Social Network” written by Aaron Sorkin and and based on the book Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal. The movie stars Jesse Eisenberg, Justin Timberlake, Andrew Garfield and Joe Mazzello.

The movie will chronicle the rise of Facebook, the popular website created from Mark Zuckerberg’s (Eisenberg) laptop in a Harvard dorm room that has gone on to be one of the biggest phenomenons in the history of the internet.

Timberlake will play Sean Parker, the Napster co-founder who became Facebook’s founding president and Andrew Garfield will play Eduardo Saverin, the Facebook co-founder who fell out with Zuckerberg over money.

“The Social Network” is currently filming in and around Los Angeles.
