First Look: Seth Rogen as the Green Hornet
January 26, 2010
Here’s our first look at Seth Rogen as the Green Hornet.
The Green Hornet is Britt Reid, a newspaper publisher by day who by night goes out in his masked “Green Hornet” identity to fight crime as a vigilante, accompanied by his similarly masked Asian manservant Kato and driving a car, equipped with advanced technology, called “Black Beauty”. The Green Hornet is often portrayed as possessing fair to above average hand-to-hand combat skills and is often armed with a gun that sprays knock-out gas (a sonic blast weapon called the “Hornet’s Sting” was added to his arsenal for the TV series).
The Green Hornet, a classic character of film, television, radio, and comic books returns to the big screen in Columbia Pictures’ feature film “The Green Hornet,” starring Seth Rogen as the vigilante crime-fighter. The film will be directed by Michel Gondry (“Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”) from a screenplay written by Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg (“Superbad,” “Pineapple Express”), based upon “The Green Hornet” radio series created by George W. Trendle, and produced by Neal H. Moritz (“The Fast and the Furious”). Cameron Diaz plays Lenore Case, known as “Casey”, who was aware of her boss’, Britt Reid’s, double life.
The Green Hornet will be released in theaters nationwide on December 22, 2010.
