Jenna Fischer to star in ‘A Little Help’
November 5, 2008
Jenna Fischer will star in the indie dramedy “A Little Help,” which marks the feature directorial debut of “King of Queens” creator Michael J. Weithorn.
The story centers on a recently widowed single mom who reconnects with an old flame — who happens to be her sister’s husband. Weithorn penned the screenplay.
We’re finally going to see Fischer break out and grab the spotlight all for herself, but we get to watch her do it while stealing her sister’s husband. We’re eager to see how she handles such a sticky situation. While Fischer is quickly becoming a beloved female laugh machine, she hasn’t gotten to stretch this far before.
Secret Handshake Entertainment’s Dena Hysell and Joe Gressis are producing.
“A Little Help” will begin shooting in January in Georgia.
Fischer, whose bigscreen credits include “Walk Hard” and “Blades of Glory,” is shooting the fifth season of NBC’s “The Office.” Most recently she appeared onscreen in Dimension’s “The Promotion” alongside John C. Reilly and Seann William Scott. She will co-star alongside Michael Douglas, Susan Sarandon and Mary-Louise Parker in “Solitary Man,” which begins shooting this week in New York.
