Mike Myers Writing Austin Powers 4
July 31, 2008

Word is that Mike Myers has started writing the fourth installment of the Austin Powers series.
Myers reportedly will make the father and son theme strong and loosely based on his life. Austin Powers 4 will focus on villain Dr. Evil and his son, Scott Evil, played by actor Seth Green. Myers is penning his idea with Baby Mama’s Mike McCullers, who collaborated with Myers on Austin Powers 2: The Spy Who Shagged Me and Austin Powers 3: Goldmember.
There’s no deal in place yet but New Line is interested in No. 4 despite Myer’s recent box office bomb, The Love Guru, for Paramount. Can Myers still bring in audiences? Maybe not. Maybe so. Interestingly, Myers had a character in the original Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery script called The Love Guru but decided not to shoot it and then wrote it out of the series. Nevertheless, when Paramount decided to make The Love Guru, it demanded that New Line sign a pledge that it had no claims to the character.
Dr. Evil was my favorite character in the Austin Powers series and I thought Seth Green was really funny as Scott Evil.
We’ll keep you posted when more details emerge.
