NEW Iron Man 2 Poster with Mickey Rourke As Whiplash

Here’s the new Whiplash (Mickey Rourke) one-sheet for Iron Man 2.

Rumor has it that a trailer for Iron Man 2 will be attached to either James Cameron’s Avatar or Sherlock Holmes later this month. Holmes seems like the logical choice since it stars Iron Man himself, Robert Downey Jr., though screening it alongside Avatar will guarantee that the sequel’s core fanbase will be there to devour it. In the poster above, you’ll see Whiplash in what will most likely not be his full finished costume. He’s standing in front of a wall full of Tony Stark-related newspaper articles, because, well, everyone knows the psychotic villains in movies need to obsessively collect newspaper clippings featuring their nemesis. It’s just a rule, ya know?

Iron Man 2 opens in theaters on May 7, 2010, the Jon Favreau-directed sequel stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Jon Favreau, Rourke, Sam Rockwell, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Garry Shandling, John Slattery, Kate Mara, Clark Gregg and Olivia Munn.
