Rolling Stone Has Reviewed “The Dark Knight”
June 26, 2008
The first, official ‘Dark Knight’ movie review has arrived, courtesy of Peter Travers at Rolling Stone. Reading his review only excites me even more about this movie. Travers is kind to his readers and doesn’t give away any of The Dark Knight’s secrets, but still manages to express his enthusiasm for the flick. From his opening sentence, “Heads up: a thunderbolt is about to rip into the blanket of bland we call summer movies,” Travers entices all of us who have been brimming with excitement about this film.
Travers’ critique of Heath Ledger’s performance as Joker made my day. He calls Ledger “mad-crazy-blazing brilliant as the Joker”. Travers even suggests that the performance is worthy of an Oscar, “If there’s a movement to get him the first posthumous Oscar since Peter Finch won for 1976’s Network, sign me up”.
Wow. Wow. Wow.
Can I buy my ticket now?
