The Farrelly Brothers Plan To Make A Redneck Action-Adventure Movie
April 16, 2008

Fox has preemptively bought Mike Arnold and Chris Poole’s spec “Beaujolais” for Bobby and Peter Farrelly to produce through their Conundrum banner as a potential directing vehicle.
The project has been called, “a redneck action-adventure with a protagonist along the lines of an Austin Powers or Ace Ventura.” Do you think Peter and Bobby Farrelly still have a comedy classic left inside them? It’s been quite some time since the Farrelly brothers have given us a gem like There’s Something About Mary, Kingpin or Dumb and Dumber. Big-screen comedy trends seem to be changing; moving away from the random gross-out gags and more toward the random pop-culture references.
Conundrum’s Bradley Thomas is producing alongside the Farrellys.
“We haven’t stepped up and done something like us in a while,” Bobby Farrelly said. “Everything sort of aligned for us on this project.”
The Farrellys most recently helmed “Heartbreak Kid.” Their comedy TV series “Unhitched” is on Fox.
